ASL Aviation Group has completed a transaction with Aviation Academy Austria (AAA) on their acquisition of Farnair Training in Vienna. The facility, which houses an ATR simulator, will now be owned and operated by AAA.

ASL’s ATR operators will use the simulator for pilot training and under the terms of the transaction the number of ASL simulator sessions is set to increase considerably.

This transaction, which facilitates the sale of Farnair Training while increasing the benefit of the simulator to ASL, is a positive step in the drive to optimise assets across the ASL Group. It also allows us to concentrate our resources on the creation of ‘centres of excellence’ in such areas as operations control, maintenance control and CAMO.

Aviation Academy Austria was founded 2004 and has been working with airlines such as Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and Tyrolean Airways for more than 15 years. During this time they have gained extensive experience in flight training, flight operations and the airline business in general.

ASL Aviation Group is delighted to have agreed this new business and training relationship with the Academy that will see the Group’s ATR operators make the best use of the ATR simulator in Vienna and so enhancing our training programme.
