ASL has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Lockheed Martin to procure up to 10 LM-100J aircraft.

The LM-100J is the new commercial freighter version of the ‘Hercules’ aircraft that has proven itself to be a superb aircraft over decades of aviation service.

ASL is planning cooperative use of the aircraft with humanitarian aid and oil spill relief organisations.

In Africa, ASL’s associated company Safair, continues to operate one of the world’s largest fleets of Hercules aircraft on hugely important missions for the United Nations, the International Red Cross and the World Food Programme.

The signing of the LOI at Farnborough Airshow was followed by an announcement that ASL intends to base up to two Hercules aircraft in Shannon Airport in the future.

Please see links to the media releases from Lockheed Martin and Shannon Airport on these important developments for ASL.
